I'll Never Do Direct Sales

Yeah. That's what I thought too.

Back in college I majored in Marketing / Communications. My dream was to go into design, advertising, computer animation, or marketing research. I did NOT want to do sales. I a friend of mine in the program commented that his life long ambition was to go into pharmecutical sales. YUCK. That did NOT sound like fun to me and I told him that I NEVER EVER EVER wanted to do sales -- like EVER.

So, yeah, that lasted about a year lol.

Because then someone talked me into signing up for Mary Kary. Okay- she paid for me to sign up. I don't think that's the norm for Mary Kay-- I'm pretty sure they don't encourage people purchasing other people's business start up fees. But, hey, why not. I knew NOTHING about makeup, beauty, direct sales, nada. Held a launch party that went well and then moved across the country - literally - from AZ to CT.... where I knew TWO people - and they were married to eachother, so it really only counts as one.

Did I succeed? They effort I put into it is laughable. I did earn a coin purse though. But that was it. I think I may have earned $100. But, it's not Mary Kay's fault - it's my own. I had absolutely no motivation to make it work. If it worked, great - if not, whatever. I think I lasted 4 months?

BUT, now that I've REALLY been doing direct sales for the past nine years with two different companies, my mindset has REALLY changed on what direct sales is all about. And I'm in LOVE with it!!! WHY???? Watch for yourself:

Don't judge direct sales until you've given it a FAIR effort - because if you give it any effort at all, you can't help but be blessed by it!!
